ALL the Earth

1 Clap your hands, all you nations;
       shout to God with cries of joy.

2 How awesome is the LORD Most High,
       the great King over all the earth!

5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy,
       the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises;
       sing praises to our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth;
       sing to him a psalm [a] of praise.

8 God reigns over the nations;
       God is seated on his holy throne.

9 The nobles of the nations assemble
       as the people of the God of Abraham,
       for the kings [b] of the earth belong to God;
       he is greatly exalted.

    – Psalm 47

I thought  this a fitting scripture today.  I am in Guatemala City with a team from exchange.  We are about to head to breakfast then to worship with some locals that we have yet to meet.  After that we will serve in orphanages and transitional homes.

Today we will see first hand that God is the King of all the earth, not just king of suburbia.  He reigns over all the nations, not just America.  As a matter of fact, I am pretty certian that God is not anglo-saxon middle class.

I am again amazed at a God who is bigger than I could dream in a million dreams.  Everything under heaven is his, everything.  I find myself incredibly small yet accepted as one of his.

Thanks God, for reminders in your word and your world.  I stand with the rest of your creation who have come to say that you are King of ALL the earth.  I am again amazed.
