Paul speaks to the church and makes it clear that when we do things, we cannot think only of ourselves; we have to think of others. We have to ask, “How does my decision effect others?” It is possible that the decisions you make will have an effect on people coming to know Christ.
When I got married, life stopped being all about me. When I had kids, my decisions effected more than me. When I became a follower of Christ, I had to stop making decisions exclusively for my benefit.
