Decision Making

23 You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial. 24 Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others. – I Cor 10

33 I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don’t just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. – I Cor 10

image Paul speaks to the church and makes it clear that when we do things, we cannot think only of ourselves; we have to think of others.  We have to ask, “How does my decision effect others?”  It is possible that the decisions you make will have an effect on people coming to know Christ.

When I got married, life stopped being all about me. When I had kids, my decisions effected more than me.  When I became a follower of Christ, I had to stop making decisions exclusively for my benefit.

What decision are you wrestling with?

How will it effect others?
