Go Get It

image 1 Now that the land was under Israelite control, the entire community of Israel gathered at Shiloh and set up the Tabernacle.[a] 2 But there remained seven tribes who had not yet been allotted their grants of land.

3 Then Joshua asked them, “How long are you going to wait before taking possession of the remaining land the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given to you? – Joshua 18

Has God given me things that I am not yet taking possession of?

When I was in high school I was under a curfew.  My first year of college, I lived at home and still came in at my curfew time.  I thought it was a little juvenile to be in college and have a curfew, but I wanted to honor my parents.  In a conversation with my mother one evening, I said “It would be nice to not have a curfew.”  She responded.  “You have not had a curfew since you graduated high school.”

I just needed to come and get what was already there.

I wonder if there are things that are already there for the taking.  Just beyond sight.  Slightly out of reach.  Could it be that just over the next hill is what you have been asking God for?  Could it be that it has been there all along and he is just waiting for you?

Go get it.  What are you waiting for?
