How to Wake Up with Less Anxiety

As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake. – Ps 17:15 (NASB)

Sometime I wake with a bit of anxiety.  I think about the tasks ahead and the worries of the day.  It’s not that I find it hard to get out of bed, but I wake with more stress than I would like.

How about you?  Do you hit the snooze button, not for more sleep but to avoid starting the day?

What if we could see God’s likeness as soon as we wake?  What would he say to us?  I think he might say things like . . .

My yoke is easy and my burden is light (Mt 11:30).  These heavy things are not from me.

Life may be hard, but I am with you (Mt 28:20).

I am peace.  The prince of peace, actually (Is 9:6).

These troubles are light.  These troubles are momentary (2 Cor 4:17).

If I am with you (Mt 28:20), what should you fear (Ps 27:1)?

I see when you lay down and when you arise. I am watching over you (Ps 139:2).

When is the last time I let you down (Deut 31:6) ?

I know you don’t always see the big picture.  That’s OK.  Take the next step (Pr 16:9).  Do the next right thing.

Nothing you do today will diminish my love for you (1 Jn 3:1).

Nothing you will do today will increase  my love for you (Rm 5:8).

I will uphold you by my mighty hand (Is 41:10).

If I called you to it I will walk you through it (Ps 23:4).

Are there things that you do in order to wake up with less anxiety?  Comment below.
