Stand

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. – 1 Cor 15:58

Stubborn people. I have met them. Some of them drive me crazy. Most of them I admire. They let nothing move them.

More times than not, I meet people who are easily moved. All the time I see people who are all charged on this God thing then slowly fade into the distance. They are easily moved. Too easily moved.

Somewhere the gospel was made so easy that it has become a “take it or leave it” deal. Easy to get in, easier to get out. What happen to stubbornness? Resolve? Paul says “let nothing move you.” Hmmm. Sounds like there will be things that will try to move me.

I think half of the game is knowing that there will be things that will try to move me. Once I feel God moving in a certian direction, I need to walk that way until he stops me, not until something else does.

God, I want to listen to you well and let nothing besides you move me. Today, I again give myself to your work and ask for great strength and stubbornness to stand.

  1. Scot,

Hey! The stubborn thing I have got down to a perfect \”T\”. Sometimes in a good way… sometimes in a not so great way! I think we all need to look at how we are dealing with things. This week is going to be hard. I started not looking forward to it when I woke up Sunday because I knew I was going to have to give something up. However, thus far, it has done me good… even though the week isn\’t over yet! Thanks, for giving us the encouragement we need Scot!

  2. Scott:

I wanted to write to let you know that my stubborness is still very much in tact and that I have not faded away. (*And I will not ever.) I am just a few thousand miles away at the moment, but that shouldn\’t stop anyone from anything. 😉

It will have been one year on November 20 since my baptism! I have observed the spirit of Christ at Maryland and I just want to let you guys know that you are beautiful. I miss eXchange and your guidance and pray for you often.

    Fast on my brother,

    Randi
