Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. – Heb 12;3

Fact: This life is not easy.  Burnout looms.  We have troubles and trials.  Health issues and financial strains.  Death.  Hate.  Stress. Strained relationships.  Separation.  Divorce.  It can be overwhelming.  Sometimes the road seems long.  Too long.  We ask, “Will it ever end?” After a while we begin to lose heart.  Eventually we can lose hope.  What is the remedy?  In Hebrews 12, Paul (the author) makes it pretty simple.  There is one remedy for not losing heart:

Consider him.

Consider Christ.  He endured the brutality of abandonment, betrayal, loneliness, and excruciating physical pain.  Consider how he endured.  Wrap your mind around him.  As you read about Christ, let your thoughts and imagination walk around inside his experiences.  Consider him.  Think about him.  Ponder him.  According to Paul, the more we consider Christ, the less weary we become.

Consider him.  And as you do, may your walk and heart be strengthened
