Several people that I know are weathering some significant storms in their lives.  Maybe you can find encouragement in some promises for the righteous (followers of Christ).

From my Life Jouraling this morning:
When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever. – Pr 10:25

The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land. – Pr 10:30

The righteous person is rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.– Pr 11:8

Good people obtain favor from the Lord, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes. – Pr 12:2

The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous stands firm.– Pr 12:7

In this current storm of life, I remind myself and God of these scriptures. The righteous . . .

  • stand firm forever
  • will not be uprooted
  • are rescued from trouble
  • obtain favor
  • are overthrown no more

God, we remind you of these scriptures in your holy word.  We are righteous because of Christ, so we expect that these verses would become reality.  You have promised that we will stand firm, we will not be uprooted, we will be rescued, we do have favor, and the overthrow attempt will stop.  We look forward to you making good on these promises.
