Prosperity

image But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.  He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.  Whatever he does prospers.                           – Psalm  1:2-3

I want to prosper in whatever I do.  Don’t you?  I want it to seem like I have the golden touch.  Whatever I put my shoulder to, I would like to see great results.  I bet you are the same.  So, how can this happen?  If we meditate on the law of God day and night.  If it is our delight.  But what does that really mean?  Do we study the 10 commandments with a smile on our face?  Is that it?

In a broad sense, I think that it means that all the things of God become the passion of life.  It means that knowing Jesus becomes our top priority.  When that is true, whatever we do will be met with success because our #1 desire is not for our plans to be successful.  Our top desire is to know God.  When that happens, everything else falls into place.

Continually knowing God is the highest calling of life. Everything else is just details.  I need to paste that on my office wall.  I forget it so easily.

Do you know God better today than you did yesterday?  Do you know Christ better this week than last?

  1. Every day I learn, grow closer to Him and struggle, all at the same time. I wouldn\’t have it any other way. Without Him, the struggles are nothing but stress. With Him, the struggles are what I learn from, which brings me closer. Our God IS an awesome God!!!
