Songs of Simple Worship 2: “Lay Down”

Scot-Photo Shoot 2 151 I wrote “Lay Down” with the thought of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. He fought desperately in prayer with God and was all alone.  His best friends were sleeping. He needed someone to be with him, someone to lay in the dirt with him.

The end of the song takes a turn and is written from our perspective; needing God to lay in the dirt with us; which he did; and does. And that, my friends, is incredibly good news.

Be sure and join us for the Simple Worship 2 release party.  July 30, 7-8:30 at Coffee Grounds in Terre Haute.

Simple Worship 2 goes on sale July 30.  Check it out here
