If you were at MCC on Sunday, your heard us talk about a special offering we are taking on November 21. This offering will go toward our general operating expenses for 2010, with 10% of the offering going toward a local ministry in Terre Haute.
Also on Nov 21 we will again ask people to fill out a tithe/giving card. This card will give us an indication of what we can expect for 2011. Filling out this card is a great reminder to us that as followers of Christ, we are instructed to return to him a portion of what he has given to us.
Here is something that many of us believe strongly: the best days of MCC are not behind us, they are ahead of us. God has been moving in some extraordinary ways. People are coming to know him (3 baptisms on Sunday), there is an anticipation and excitement, and this thing is moving. I believe that we will see things in the near future that will blow us away as God keeps lighting up this little movement. But, we are not there . . . yet. It’s coming. God is going to make us shake our head in wonder when we see the things that he will do. It’s close, it’s just not yet. And in the “not yet” we have some things we need to do. Will you join me in giving a generous thanksgiving offering on Nov 21? And as we do, know this: the best is yet to come.
It is a privilege to serve with you.
