What was Jesus Thinking?

5So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Behold the man!” 6When the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, “Crucify him, crucify him!”- Jn 19

Jesus had been flogged.  In great pain he stands in front of a crowd.  These were people he lived with.  People he loved.  People he had created.  People he came for.

The King stands before his creation.  Dressed in a robe.  Crown on his head.  His back torn open.  It was now time for him to take an emotional beating.  Standing before his people, he hears the shouts.

“Crucify him!  Crucify him!”

What do you think might have been going through the mind of Christ?

  1. Why? Please make it stop! For someone to help Him. He even cried out to His Father for help. But I also believe He was thinking, “This is what my Father has asked of me, so that I will save all the people and take their sins away. I will obey My Father”
